Doug’s Poundhound project is (thankfully) very much like a King’s X record. Only Doug has, quite predictably, blasted it with heavier, bass-throbbing tones.
The songs blur together into a swirl of distortion, throat-shredding vocals, and machine-gunning double bass drumming, but that’s certainly not a bad thing.
Wiith Gallery of Suicide, they manage to vary their pacing and styles, mixing in some cool grindcore structures with their old-school death metal stylings.
Viking warriors are alive and well. Tremendous metal with plenty of melodicism on their Metal Blade debut. One of the best Swedish metal albums this year.
