The bassist is a funk madman accompanied by hip-hop beats and DJ scratches. The two guitarists duel like Maiden, chug like Metallica. All members sing/yell.
The singer had the presence of Anthony of the Chili Peppers and a signature rant/rap. Amazingly tight for a band so young, without a demo to their name.
There was a large crash at the end of the hall. Mac realized he’d just missed the point. And the point had missed him entirely. Bad guidance system, evidently.
We wore flannel ’cause it was fucking cold in the sticks. We also enjoyed dope long before our short-haired brethren and have long since grown bored with it.
The packed crowd bopped and smiled and bounced ’til I thought the floor would collapse. It took a verse to realize the song was “Heart of Glass.” Blondie. Cool.
