They’ve been doing this since ’89, but still, classic Suicidal Tendencies and D.R.I. they ain’t. You get the trademark hardcore stuff here, nothing more.
Picking up where they left off with ’91’s amazing Beyond the Unknown, Discerning Forces is a throwback to the early ’90s (and best era) of death metal.
The album I thought they’d never make: Not self-righteous, not self-glorifying, not watered-down, but the successor to Agnostic Front’s classic One Voice.
Horsebox will probably be remembered as the band’s most mature and seasoned output. It has taken over Mush in the cockles of my heart. Quite an achievement.
