Gravityhead – Dropped – Review

Gravityhead

Dropped (Wonderland)
by Joshua Brown

Gravityhead‘s ambition is self-evident: Headbanger’s Ball or bust. Judging from the material on Dropped (Wonderland), there’s no reason they can’t achieve this. The production is great, the playing is better than competent, the vocalist sounds exactly like Ian Astbury of the Cult. They do use some interesting effects, but generally they’re just too slick and the emotions displayed in the songs come off sounding contrived. Gravityhead could make a good living doing this, but is that what rock ‘n’ roll is about?
