When putting on a CD with song titles like “Electric Acid Pancake House,” “Butt Plug,” and “Ribbit,” you know you’re in for a wild ride. Prawn Song stays true to their San Francisco Bay, punk-funk experimental spirit in putting out Der Shrimpkin. Eskimo noodles on an array of unusual instruments including a marimba, trombone, and vibes while tossing in everything from circus music clips to nursery rhymes and their own oddball lyrics. Musical virtuosity combined with a sense of the absurd make this CD worth checking out.
