Countless are the people who’ve missed trains due to Mary Lou Lord‘s playing in the Boston subway. “Captivating” is such an empty word, but that’s exactly what she is. Her voice is so sweet, it transports you from your crappy life. Funny thing is, that’s exactly what she’s singing about. “Lights are Changing” has a full band and fellow Boston heroine Juliana Hatfield on backing vocals, but the rest are pure, sparse Mary Lou. Simply beautiful.
