Face the Strange (DCide)
by Scott Hefflon

The label that brought us Nothingface (who were better than they got credit for) and maybe Vision of Disorder (I forget) brings us this. Two blonde girls (one smoking, one holding a lollipop: Kinda like the good and bad Olssen twins?) and two guys with facial hair (one with silly sideburns, the other with a mustache & goatee). They form a band, layer some dance beats beneath bar rock songs, and ooze and sigh sensually. Oh, and they ruin Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel,” which I’ve heard high school battle of the bands losers pull off. The trip-hop “Beautiful Lies” is quite nice. But trip-hop is easy to do reasonably well.
