Bad Trip – Buzzy – Review

Bad Trip

Buzzy (Wreck Age)
by Sheril Stanford

Bad Trip wear their bleeding heart on their sleeve, with lyrics that address every social ill in the book: The death penalty, homelessness, AIDS, death, suicide, guns, craziness, anomie, alienation, loneliness, and rage. Yet the songs are delivered with such a raw, earnest, genuine sense of urgency and emotion that they ring true every time. You can tell the lyrics were written from the gut. A solid, strapping bass/drum combination kicks it up against dark, disturbing guitar, with awkward yet volatile vocals taking center stage. This release is rock hard through and through; it sets a tone with the first cut and rides it all the way to the end.
