Dance Hall Crashers – Lockjaw – Review

Dance Hall Crashers

Lockjaw (510)
by Scott Hefflon

Anyone who follows Dance Hall Crashers knows the ease with which they slip from steppin’ upbeat ska to soulful and sweet ska-pop to rude boy/gangsta stomping. Perhaps losing the horns on this album was a shame, but the guitar and drum madness give the always sexy vocal duo of Elyse and Karina a punk edge that kicks the Bangles’ collective ass like nobody’s business. And they never lose their pop melodies. This is a party favorite.
