If you could somehow genetically splice Nick Drake and the dB’s, give them a tab of Sonic Boom’s leftover acid, and then find a way to record the sad whistles and whines running through their sleepless heads as the buzz wears off, you’d probably have a lot of cleaning up to do in the morning. So grab Shatterproof‘s debut album instead – its poppy psych-mope achieves the same effect and makes much less of a mess. Wrist-perforatin’ plaint that actually works for a change.
