This is beautiful. A four-song EP from a Buffalo, NY band that whups the Goo Goo Dorks’ asses all over the powerpop place. I hesitate to use the words insightful or emotional or progressive or Goth-influenced, but all apply in one way or another. The chunky guitar chords roll with reverb, the bass and drums rip out ferocity and technique without stooping to attitude-for-attitude’s-sake or showing off, and the vocals tear at the heartstrings I hadn’t noticed I’d left dangling. Between the lyrics and the impact of the voice that projects them, I was moved. I can listen to this again and again in the middle of the night and still not get sick of it. Beautiful.
