Hostility – Brick – Review

Hostility

Brick (Century Media)
by Scott Hefflon

A wild mix of dirty backwoods chords and Pantera roar, this is as close to Down’s heavy sludge sound as I’ve heard, sans New Orleans’ shuffle. Hostility maintains its rural conglomeration of influences – when you ain’t from Metropolis, you get your sound from odd sources. Heavy as a mountain, tuned real, real low, almost demon roar vocals, but it’s more personal than surreal. And that personal expression is rage. “Don’t Fuck With Me” is good advice.
