The second for Abacus, but the first might’ve been an EP, I don’t remember. Produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge), and it’s nicely non-muddy, high-end scream metal along those lines. They’ve played with Converge and Cursed and Hot Cross, and it shows. Chaotic, noisy, and less random than some of their peers, and less knuckledragging dumb than other metalcore, but still not enough here for me to sink my teeth into, cuz aside from a few brief moments of melody that peek out from beneath the clutter, it’s all just noisy clutter, nothing to sing in the shower, hum in traffic, or remember two seconds after it’s done yelling at you.
