Seven Year Bitch – Gato Negro – Review

Seven Year Bitch

Gato Negro (Atlantic)
by J. Lianna Ness

This is Seven Year Bitch‘s third release (first for Atlantic) and they’re still as coarse and nasty as ever. Sonorous guitars collide with thundering bass and cumbrous percussion, while vocalist Selene Vigil screeches like she’s just had a car door slammed on her hand. Like a roller coaster: it creeps along inertly, tension building gradually, then shrieks as it dips and races at 85 mph. Do not get on this ride if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure. May cause excitability, especially in children.
