A Million Monkeys With Steadicams

The first annual Sunstroke Film Festival, the period after the last word in independent and codependent film, has just ended. We sent a certifiable Lollispondent to Urban City, Ohio to cover the event, which he greatly enjoyed in spite of the fact that the festival was actually held in Arizona. He managed to get a hold of some used ticket stubs, however, so here are his picks: in newly-westernized East Berlin, an angel dreams of becoming a cashier at a fast-food chicken establishment in Wim Sanders’ Buffalo Wings of Desire… thanks to a rip in the time/space continuum and some tightened tendons, the architect of the Third Reich becomes ’90s America’s hottest new baseball hero in Ty Goebbels’ Designated Hitler… Wayne Wang and Steve Schlong present a wry slice-of-life portrait of a day in the life of a group of people standing around in front of the Post Office and not doing a hell of a lot in the improvisational comedy We Just Found A Bunch of People, Left The Camera On and Look, We’ve Got A Cult Classic!… and Oh! Ebola!, a speculative documusical from Frank E. Coli based on his suspicion that the recent brace of monkey movies is responsible for the worldwide spread of the virus movie. Good night for now; hope you enjoy your meals.
