Raging Slab
Sing Monkey Sing (American)
by Scott Hefflon
Why geeky prog rock one-schtick-wonders like Primus and half-naked tattoo posterboy balladeers like the Red Hot Chili Peppers are considered “alternative” when an unidentifiable mutation of all things rock like a Raging Slab is just kinda congealing outside the frazzled edge of the limelight has always confused me. Throw Zeppelin, “Come Together” Beatles drug haze days, ZZ Top, and every bastardized form of roaring rock, boogie, sludge, blues (both derivative and warped slide), and mystery styles into a swamp and let it fester. Now that’s a novel stench.
