Ancients Rebirth – Damnated Hell’s Arrival – Review

Ancients Rebirth

Damnated Hell’s Arrival (Necropolis)
by Scott Hefflon

Before I begin, what the fuck does the album title mean? I mean, once you hear a few minutes, you catch the Kreator inspiration (gosh, could it’ve been the cover of “Flag of Hate” that tipped you off, big guy?), but even “Storming with Menace” was more silly than dumb. This four-song EP includes the aforementioned cover, the title track, “Times to Come are Frozen,” and “Armageddish Execution” (whatever the hell that means), I mean, what are we talking about here? Sure, the music rips the way old Kreator did in the mid-to-late-’80s, but I already have all their albums. On vinyl and CD. Why do I need this? Is it cheaper? Are they on tour? Are they just younger and just as authentically silly-looking as Kreator was in their heyday? Sure, I guess if you’ve got the bucks to spare and resent the fact that Kreator sure as shit ain’t up to snuff anymore, by all means feel free to rush out and buy this.
