No, they’re not Kraftwerk, but they play them on TV… um, make that CD. These four Denmark sequencer soldiers appear to have made it their ambition to keep the electronic styling of Kraftwerk alive and microchipping. The big question, however, is does Kraftwelt succeed? They get my vote for a job well done, considering that their expertly-crafted sounds all conjure the retro-styled Euro-electro tinkering and rhythms that made Kraftwerk such a hit. As a result of the homage-oriented nature of this project, very little comes across as groundbreaking, but their sci-fi fueled computer bleep ‘n’ blip songs will make any Kraftwerk fan nostalgic.
