Pretty decent emo-rock a la The Promise Ring and The Jazz June. Besides sharing the whole “The” name thing with the aforementioned bands, The Grey A.M. also share their love of the dance-friendly beats and indie rock open chords that the genre has trademarked. Sure, the singing leaves a lot to be desired (I’d like to see an emo-rock band not croon aimlessly for once and actually try to create melodies), but the instrumentation and overall cheery mood is enough to please your dancing feet before you notice.
