Sharks Keep Moving – Review

Sharks Keep Moving

More and more bands are playing this type of Midwestern, Don Caballero-esque indie rock. Sharks Keep Moving isn’t one of the first, nor one of the best in the movement, but they offer more odd-time signatures and unusual open chords/clean pickings to give listeners an intelligent alternative to the everyday sappy pop song (or blockheaded aggro rock). And even though you might want to get Braid or Karate first – the cream of the crop – there’s still no denying that Sharks Keep Moving do their thing pretty well. Hey, they’re playing music that takes more listener participation than most, and that alone is good enough for me. I’d rather have a whole school of Sharks Keep Moving than H2O clones. Oh yeah, some really enjoyable instrumentals on this baby, too.
