The songs (essentially the same for both sets on these two discs) don’t exactly sound all that great. In fact, you’d probably conclude that “they sucked live.”
Like Starmarket, Snuff, and fellow countrymen, Hi-Standard, Husking Bee’s heavy guitars in no way detract from the band’s melancholy vibe and emotional impact.
If you thought Black Train Jack had great sing-alongs, think again. (Ex-members of BTJ, Warzone, Token Entry, Crown of Thornz, and No Redeeming Social Value.)
It’s wordy, overwrought, and stuffed with fussy parts, but the carnal rhythms keep the show earthy and mischievous. Fast like Helloween, leaden like Accept.
