Born Blind – One for All – Review

Born Blind

One for All (Solid State)
by Tim Den

All four members of Born Blind have some connection to No Innocent Victim, and it shows. Taking old school energy a la late ’80s Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, and early Sick Of It All, and adding that new school guitar crunch, Born Blind is almost an exact replica of No Innocent Victim’s powerful hardcore formula. Personally, I dig it because it doesn’t chug its way into oblivion (like Earth Crisis ripoffs) or speed blindly through power chords (aka “old school revival”), instead combining the two with meaty solidarity. This is proof that hardcore made by educated individuals (most of Born Blind have university degrees) is simply better.
