Sacred Steel – Bloodlust – Review

Sacred Steel

Bloodlust (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon

These yip-metallers (hiccuping high notes and almost randomly-placed squeals that sound like someone just slipped an ice cube up the singer’s ass) got heavier this time out, even mixing in a bit of thrash and some “demon voice intros.” There’s the standard duel-melody guitar interplay, warbling vocals (sounds kinda like a childish goblin or something), Maiden’s galloping riffs, and we’re treated to ten new songs whose titles include the word blood three times, steel twice, metal twice, and hammer, oath, wrath, war, warriors, gates, fate, lust, and thrones once each.
