Delight in darkness! Chilling tales of torture and torment coming to you from the great beyond! Darkness descends, unleashing ten frightful de-compositions that create the perfect blend of boneyard hardcore with melodious choral arrangements designed to send shivers down your spine and a bleeding into your black heart! A familiar style built upon the classic Misfits/Samhain tradition, slightly more modern, sometimes uptempo in rhythmic character, which has much to do with AFI vocalist Davey Havoc’s impenetrable voice. Throw in latest Danzig players Todd Youth and Howie Pyro – not to mention a brief contribution from the evil one himself – and not for a minute are we to expect anything remotely resembling a “hit…” A nail in the coffin, maybe, a hit, no. Heavy, quick, powerful and melodic, many differing overall rock-like elements (no fancy studio tactics or aggrandized alterna-rock developments) are present here, fast flashes of melody, strict rhythmic layers, and catchy backing vox. It’ll take no longer than the first two tracks before you’re ready to close the casket cover on yourself… there’s simply no further reason to live!
