No Use For A Name – Live in a Dive – Review

No Use For A Name

Live in a Dive (Fat)
by Tim Den

Ever since No Use For A Name made the transformation from good (Leche con Carne!) to essential (Making Friends), I’ve been a loyal lobbyist of the band to punks and non-punks alike. Live in a Dive further proves my point: This band is everything pop-punk (and songwriting in general) should be – tight playing, great harmonies, great hooks, driving intensity, humor (though the between-song banter here tries a little too hard to be funny), and awesome production. Captured over two nights by the ever-reliable Ryan Greene, Live in a Dive is a studio-quality adrenaline rush that even includes a mini comic book (vinyl includes a real-size comic book)! Oh, and the CD comes with multi-media goodies, too. You have no excuse not to get this.
