Damn is this brutal. Like the hardcore band, Raised Fist, Scar Culture has learned that “Meshuggah production” counts. Inscribe is about as heavy as neo-death metal gets: Guitars sounding like pistons pumping and drums like some futuristic machine gun blasting your face into a mush of tissue and sinew. With more breakdowns than a barrow of wannabe-metal hardcore kids, Scar Culture also throw in some insane blastbeats for good measure. And that vocalist… fuckin’ Jesus is he possessed. I’d hate to see what these NY boys would do to Bin Laden.
