Nonexist – Deus Deceptor – Review

Nonexist

Deus Deceptor (Century Media)
by Tim Den

Crisp, meaty, early-’90s death metal delivered with the riffage of Testament and the production of a young Meshuggah. Nice moments of quiet parts, little bits of melody thrown in for good measure, and lots of groove-oriented breakdowns. It’s as indistinguishable as the next growling combo, but the clarity of the recording and the howls of vocalist John Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy) means you’ll enjoy it nonetheless.
