Gregor Samsa – Review

Gregor Samsa

(Iodine)
by Tim Den

First of all, the packaging of this baby is gorgeous. Thin, rice paper-like inlay, transparent CD with black symbol… makes you feel good before you even play the damn thing. Secondly, Gregor Samsa‘s music fits the packaging’s character perfectly: Dreamy, layer upon layer of sound, swirling like air pockets trapped in Mogwai and Slowdive albums. Whispering male/female harmonies making love to each other, while the outside (musical) world collapses around them. There aren’t too many bands like Gregor Samsa on this side of the Atlantic, so pick this up and support the American dream pop movement (as if it exists)!
