Angular guitar rock with both feet in alt.rock history. There’s Gang of Four DNA somewhere. They remind me of the aura around Jawbox’s Desoto label. Geek-on-fire vocals, stinging dog-bite guitar, nervous drums, and bass – good stuff. As tiny tots they may’ve been babysat by their kindly-but-weird uncle and been bombarded by his Pere Ubu, Red Crayola, Mission of Burma, XTC, Birthday Party, etc., records. So, instead of becoming a rub-a-dub-dub nu-garage band, they took the same energy and dynamic and tweeked it pretty good.
