Throw something! Jump around! Make noise on that guitar! Axewomen Sara Utter and Maggie Vail shout it out like purple-haired cheerleaders in black skirts (drummer Peter David Connelly keeps up the beat and the testosterone level).

With their pissy pixie shouts, the misbehaving young ladies of Bangs sound like ankle tattoos and greasy pigtails would if they could sing. Tuneless wails about “secrets that we keep” and “we cry ourselves to sleep” are too simple for my spiked collars and whip trip-the-cheerleader fantasies, but they make a great soundtrack for spiking soda and skipping rope with licorice whips.
