Bright Calm Blue

A Direct Approach For Casual Conversation (Level Plane)

Bright Calm Blue offers up pretty standard math-flavored indie-rock, which is to say it’s aggressive yet melodious, interesting yet formulaic. The duel screaming/singing vocals, which is becoming more and more trite with every hardcore/emo-punk release, was actually utilized on this album in a far more subdued manner that I actually enjoyed. I love bands like Faraquet and Q and not U, and while Bright Calm Blue is definitely not in their league yet, I do think that they have promise.
