Featuring ex-members of Botch and current members of These Arms Are Snakes and Harkonen, you’d think Roy was a math metal powerhouse. Instead, you’d be even more surprised by how good of an indie rock band these metalcore dudes make. Though only an EP (with a full-length to come on Fueled By Ramen), Tacomatose shows the young band taking Built To Spill for a drive in mid-’90s Midwest, picking up The Weakerthans along the way and forcing them to listen to grunge records. As rainy in mood as it is soulful in execution, Tacomatose is a lively debut that just might propel this side project into a full-blown endeavor.
