The Silent Treatment – Review

The Silent Treatment

(Lucid)
by Tim Den

This is classic MidWestern emo, no fuss about it. The trailing arpeggios, the accented guitar/drums interplay, the yelping. Like an ’80s slasher flick, you can predict the next move before it even happens. Only redeeming characteristic is that The Silent Treatment aren’t nearly as annoyingly sappy as mainstream emo, which means once in a while you find juicy bits among the mundane (some of the vocal harmonies in “Please be Careful,” the piano intro to “Action Roads”).
