Virus Nine – Blastin’ Away – Review

Virus Nine

Blastin’ Away (A-F)
by Duke Crevanator

This record fuckin’ rocks. Producer Duane Peters (U.S. Bombs and The Huns) deserves major kudos for his work here. Virus Nine has a very early Rancid/OP Ivy sound, and some really excellent songwriting. They also recorded two sweet covers, “Bound for Glory” by Woody Guthrie, and “Friends in Low Places,” which is perhaps the best track on the CD. This shit is really fucking good, just go buy it. Seriously. This is better than anything Rancid have ever put out.
