Against All Authority/Common Rider
Split (Hopeless)
by Scott Hefflon
Split by two well-respected bands I’ve never really found remarkable. Against All Authority has been around since the early ’90s, and unity punk and ska never did much for me then, and it ages badly. Common Rider formed in the late ’90s, but singer Jesse Michaels fronted Op Ivy, so he could sneeze and punks would fawn. That’s not quite the case here, but close. Jesse can actually write some fine songs, the best on here by a long shot, but I just never really fell in love with the band, so this leaves me luke warm. Fans of Common Rider should be excited to get four new songs, all pretty solid rock.
