Bioentropic Damage Fractal (Crucial Blast)
by Scott Hefflon

My cat runs from the room when this plays. I like my cat a lot more than this CD. Two CDs of experimental noise and random bursts of chaos. I’ve never understood the appeal (if there is any), or why anyone would ever need more than one of these CDs. Actually, there’s some nice building instrumental stuff at the end, but you can find that on any Neurot CD, without the mood-killing random noise that’s as creative as a car pile-up. Ok, hang on, the nine-minute closer, “(In)voluntary Emotional Response,” is glorious, like Pelican or Devin Townsend’s sound collages. So one song on two CDs that doesn’t sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard or listing to a fuckin’ sprinkler hitting tin.
