Ouch, this is painful. Imagine the tuneless, abrasive yelp of riot grrl vocals with loud and annoying trendy new wave keyboards. Hitting the right notes is secondary to screaming and howling in whatever key you happen to randomly pick, and melody is second to choosing annoying keyboard settings. Objectively, this could be the new teen rebellion, because it makes squares leave the room, but like rebellion 101, it’s all abrasion and no substance. I hate lazy trendy indie pop, and this is a fine example using all the worst cliches and not offering anything new or interesting.
