The Destruction Of Everything Is The Beginning of Something New (Warcon)
by Scott Hefflon

Yeah, they’re one of “those bands.” They wear eyeliner, have moppy hair, and sing all pussy over kinda heavy guitars, and people probably call them metal, which would really piss off real metalheads, but none of us listen to this shit, or know anyone who does, so we never have to take these posers to school. Like Creed music with Saves the Day whiney vocals, if you can imagine something so horrible.

I’m sure they have a million MySpace views, because teenage girls surely love how vulnerable they mewl, and yes, they have a ballad with piano and strings near the end. But shit, kids, this is all you want outta music? This makes White Lion and Winger sound manly, and that’s difficult. There are all of two songs that are only as bad as whiney bands on Drive-Thru and The Militia Group, most WISH they could suck that bad. And this from a label called “Warcon” that put together the comp for the “Taste of Chaos” tour, and I think is currently fumbling Helmet’s career, which they’ve fumbled plenty themselves. All these manly-sounding words, and all we get is this simpering, limp-wristed pussy “rock” (technically mainstream boy band poser pop, now that Backstreet Boys and their like-minded butt-buddies are finally gone), stuff that makes Boobstank or whatever they’re called sound heavy? Shiiiiit…
