Unholy Roller (Acetate)
by Scott Hefflon

Live-sounding rockabilly/rock’n’roll featuring Sean “Zezo” Wheeler (Throwrag), Chopper Von Franklin (The Cramps), and Corey Parks (The Hunns, ex-Nashville Pussy). Sounds like it was a lot of fun to write and record, but it’s kind of a bedroom recording thing, filled with movie samples and in-jokes the common listener wouldn’t appreciate. Maybe I’m just not getting the references cuz I’m an outsider. Maybe there’s no inside. Sounds fun, sound vintage (aka kinda shitty), but aside from the cover of the classic trucker tune “Eastbound & Down” (isn’t that from Smokey & The Bandit?), nothing here sticks. Probably as blast live, with the whiskey flowing, but why buy the CD?
