Raze To Ashes – Review

Unsigned Boston metal band’s debut EP, surprisingly with hints of potential. They’re at their best when they aren’t coping a specific style too directly (“this is our Maiden song” or “this is the part where I show I like Rush”), but that could just be because I like great cover bands, and I like great originals, but I hate lame originals in unskilled hands that stink of their influences. Singer’s got a good start, monster production’ll help, but he sounds more Molly Hatchet than Metallica, and the lyrics are just horrid. But even lots of good bands have lame lyrics, in my opinion.
