The Natural World (Astralwerks)
by Scott Hefflon

Great drumming, wonderful production, opener “The Right Thing” rocks like a Gap commercial, Jet, or, ulp, Iggy’s “Lust for Life,” but it doesn’t last. I always forget electronic-obsessed pop rock still exists, but I guess it does, and it has a fanbase that doesn’t include me. Too hip, too smug, too completely formulaic and done to death a decade ago. Basically, I own that one CD Capitol released for a band called Block, and I’ve never parted with it, or played any CD like this more than once, and even then, just to pass on it.
