Radiobaghdad – 665 Neighbor of the Beast – Review

Radiobaghdad

665 Neighbor of the Beast (Onefoot)
by Scott Hefflon

Great album title! This ten-year old punk unit lights their cigarettes with flamethrowers, if you know what I’m sayin’. While their bio boasts references such as Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, and other early ’80s bands, one omission is what this is all about to me: The Dead Boys. While perhaps not similar lyrically (hell, who ever gave a shit what the Dead Boys’ songs were about?), Radiobaghdad singer Lester Norris has that same ferocious, shards-of-glass-garglin’ vocal presence, and the songs are stripped-down, gut-level punk the way it oughtta be.
