Losing At Life (Fearless)
by Scott Hefflon

Odd mix of groove metal and delicate, sensitive guy vocals that 16 year old girls will like, but not ballsy enough to win over any U2, Coldplay, or Muse fans. Dashboard Confessional fans won’t mind one bit. Helmet’s Page Hamilton produced, so the chugs are solid, but not stellar, just like Helmet, who never did live up to their potential. Second release from this Chapel Hill, NC band, includes a member of Glassjaw and an ex-member of Beloved. Get these guys on the mp3 CD, try to help Fearless build up what might just be a damn fine band if they keep at it. Damn good start, but lots of bands start off strong like this, then listen to the fawning MySpace comments and forget to push and push and push to get better and become great, not just cute and beloved by teenage girls.

Sounds a lot like Wham. How alternative rock is that?
