Prey For Eyes (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon

From Massachusetts, dense in production, complex in arrangement, and thick and churning. “Death-Grind Powerhouse” is a pretty apt description, as much as I dislike lifting catch-phrases from sales sheets/bios. Being more of a melodic death fan than a guitar-squawk/death bellow fan, this is a little tuneless brutal for me, but being a Masshole, I’m surrounded by killer guitarists and guys who can roar their heads off, but can’t hold a tune to save their short-lived career. Vocalist Guy doesn’t sink to clean singing, luckily, and he’s got such a monster roar, why bother with such emo pussiness? So yeah, a huge, brutal, note-dense album that’ll get death metal pits slamming.
