The Big Dirty (Ferret)
by Scott Hefflon

Perfectly acceptable metalcore from Ferret, a label that specializes in perfectly good, yet mostly generic, metalcore. From Buffalo, NY, home of many a decent hardcore band, ETID incorporates a bit of Southern drawl and swagger, which is funny, seeing as Buffalo is geographically and mentally pretty goddamn far from the South. They put on a good live show, and that perhaps might account for their popularity, seeing as their songs are pretty standard fare. The band recently signed to Epitaph, which is good, cuz that label’s been running on fumes for years.
