Dark and sinister stuff from NY death metal mainstays Suffocation. The title of their seventh full-length, Pinnacle of Bedlam, talks a good game, and without fail, they deliver on that swagger with opener “Cycles of Suffering.” A menacing, lurching beast of a track. It’s pure brutality from second one. But hey, that doesn’t mean there’s not time for a sick guitar solo as well — brace yourself for one minute eight seconds in!
