16 studio albums into their career, and Kreator can still knock out a 4 and a half minute stomper like “Krushers of the World.” Tuned low and mean, the dystopian verses march through a simple, chugging riff, with Mille Petrozza’s unmistakable snarl rattling off fearsome obstacles, but remaining defiant. The chorus includes a simple, harmonized lick, like a scrap of torn paper, dancing in the breeze between piles of rubble. After a half-stepping solo, the key change brings a glimmer of hope to the chorus of struggle, despite the inevitability.
