It seems like there’s a shoegaze revival, or something close to it, judging by my Instagram algorithm at least. The duo Silk Daisys claim this is their “only true shoegaze song,” and listening to their other material on Spotify, they’re correct. Both James Abercrombie and Karla Jean Davis’ voices float somewhere in the thick, wall-of-guitars-and-pedal-effects sound, My Bloody Valentining their way through this “Haunted House.” It’s dreamy, it’s gauzy, and for a haunt, it’s a pretty friendly one. Another thing: it floats by quicker than mercury.
