I’m more a fan of A Perfect Circle than Tool. They have enigmatic turbulence, an unspoken sorrow that resonates beyond Goth tendencies and prog atmospheres.
Brooding modern alt-rock with sprinkles of Goth and darkwave. Lead singer Autumn’s vocals a sonic kaleidoscope of David Bowie, David Byrne, and Peter Murphy.
Sound a helluva lot more British than Icelandic. Copying countrymen Sigur Rós would’ve been a lot more interesting than the pseudo-Coldplay at work here.
The only melodic strength here is in the call and response vocals and ubiquitous whoa-oh-ohs, and that shit gets old faster then mayonnaise in the sun.
