All the songs sound like they could’ve been written by the bands covering them. The Germs had much to do with paving the way for modern hardcore’s existence.
A good cause does not necessarily make good music. An array of female artists (Aren’t men allowed to support the cause?) cover a buncha crap ’70s songs.
Dart, 18th Dye, Magic Hour, Urusei Yatsura, The Bardots, Slipstream, Bardo Pond, Kirk Lake, and Disco Inferno contributes two tracks. There are no losers here.
A very hip compilation that deserves a band-by-band. To start off, The Verve are everything you’ve heard about, and maybe a little more. Stylish heartache.
